Don't try this at home!

"Congratulations!" My mother beamed as she took the scan off me.
"You have a blob with a head."

Why do mothers always have to say the strangest things? I mean, sure she was ecstatic to hear she was a nana, but, ya' know, blob with a head? I found myself turning the scan around in my hands and almost seeing what she meant.
"The radiologist was happy with the size of the baby for just over 12 weeks" My husband offered, trying to add some normality to the conversation, but it was too late. Now every time i look at my baby i see a blob with a head.

It's funny, you see, i always wanted to have a baby. Before we moved i kept saying i wanted to have a baby. Now i'm, oh... 13ish weeks gone and i'm thinking 'I can't take any more morning sickness... i haven't eaten properly in days and if i fall asleep half way threw 'The weakest link' again i'm going to scream'.

i'm trying to put my friends off having babies. I don't think it's working.

Please, please, please, for the love of all things good and holy...

Don't try this at home!

Hello gorgeous! Just a note - when you invite people to "join" a blog, it means they can then post in your blog too. I don't think this was what you meant! I think you just wanted to publicise it ... oh well, I think you can delete people if they accept! Thank you for your message, I was so going to say you should create a blog to detail your pregnancy! Sam xx
